FAQ

How long does a job take?

In a typical working day, I can comfortably translate roughly 2000 words or line-edit a text 6000–7000 words long. You can do the maths!

When will I get my text back?

I reserve slots for all work. My maximum turnaround time for editing an academic article is two weeks, and for translation, a month. I always do my best to accommodate my clients’ deadlines and often return texts much sooner than this.

Do you charge an express fee?

If you need a job done urgently (within 48 hours), my fees increase by 25%.

What tools do you use to complete jobs to a high standard?

I typically use SDL Trados 2019 for translation jobs, and PerfectIt & The Editor’s Toolkit when editing in Microsoft Word. You can find more details about my translation and editing workflows by clicking on the relevant links. I am open to using other translation software and content management systems upon request.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept payment by bank transfer in British pound sterling, euros or US dollars. I also accept card payments through Paypal if a bank transfer is not possible.
